The inspiration for the Kradl hoist came from an unlikely event. Our founder (Robert) was out for a long hike, and experienced a massive heart attack. After narrowly escaping death thanks to a miraculous SDFD helicopter rescue, defibrillation, and eventual recovery, Robert decided to turn to cycling for his new exercise regime. With a typical engineer's garage stuffed with all kinds of gear, it became a hassle to retrieve his bicycle for his frequent rides. Without finding an existing elegant solution that met his expectations, he decided to design his own, and Kradl was born.
