Choosing Your Kradl (25lb/40lb)

Choosing Your Kradl (25lb/40lb)

It is important to select the correct Kradl model based on your bike's weight to ensure effortless operation. Don't be tempted to upsize to the 40lb Kradl if your bike only weighs 0-25lbs, since it will require more force to pull down your lightweight bike in that case.

Kradl How it Works Graphic

Spring Powered Hoist

Spring Powered Hoist

Kradl uses a special constant-torque spring design to provide the lifting power. It works similar to a roll-up window shade or projector screen, except it is much stronger and has several additional features for safely hoisting bikes and similar items. There are multiple safety mechanisms to prevent the hoist from suddenly raising, or from raising too quickly.

Harness and Docking

Harness and Docking

The Kradl harness uses a rubber-coated sling that wraps around the top tube of your bike. It self-tightens for a secure hold, even for slanted crossbars. You simply fasten it at the approximate balance point of your bike, and the custom harness clasp secures the strap. When you raise your bike, a special feature on the harness will interlock with the Docking Arm of the main unit which prevents your bike from spinning. After lowering your bike and disconnecting the harness, you then press the button on the EZ Coiler, and it will spool the excess cable up and out of the way while it is not in use.
